How We Are The Avengers

You and I are the Avengers.

It seems weird but really, we each have the aspects of the Avengers inside of us. They are a representation of we as humans.

Observe.

Iron Man: Iron man is the selfishness in all of us. We want to be heard, to be noticed, to be the top of the pack. We are insecure, and so we try to exalt ourselves in the eyes of others. Sometimes, as in the case of Ironman, it works. But we usually end up wanting more. It's and unhappy life we will live.


Captain America: Cap'n is the bit inside all of us that yearns to do the right thing. He is humble and knows that he isn't perfect. And yet, he is a phenomenal leader. Why? Because humility is the key to being a great leader. He knows that he doesn't have all the answers so he finds them when he needs them or admits he doesn't know. ("It seems to run on some form of electricity.") This seems to contradict our selfishness but really, it's just a far different response to the same problem: our own imperfections.

Bruce Banner: Dr. Banner is insecure. He's a genius but doesn't flaunt it. He has seen what he can do to people and it breaks his heart. He knows the only way to keep from hurting people is to help them. He desperately wants to be someone to look up to, not someone to be afraid of.

Natasha Romanov/Black Widow: Nat is precise in her ways and knows how to get things done. But despite many talents, she really just wants to be good. And she knows that the things she did in her past are keeping her from that. She hurt people and she never used to care. But through her near-death experience when Barton spared her life, she seems to have woken up to the fact that she's mortal. She will have to answer for what she's done some day. And the heart-breaking thing is, she thinks that by doing good, she can somehow outweigh the bad. This is how we all are. Deserate to be able to say we've done good and that we deserve to be treated like we're perfect.

Hawk eye: He is our sarcasm. The straightforward part of us that will hide our pain with our words.

Thor: Thor is the beauty in all of us. ;)

Hulk: I separate Hulk and Bruce because they are two very different people. He is anger. We tend to lash out when we are hurt or feeling low. We turn into monsters that only inflict pain on those around us.

So you see, we really are the Avengers. Or...they are us. Either way.
