I'm sure you've all had this problem. You finally get all your chores done and you are going to reward yourself with some pinterest or Facebook time. (Or maybe you aren't done, in which case, why are you reading this?? Go do the dishes!)
But when you get to the computer, you find it in a very nasty mood. It moves about as slow as a turtle through a pit of maple syrup.
It's happened to me more times than I can count so I have composed a step by step list of things to do in this situation.
1. Check to make sure the computer and monitor are both on.
This should be quite obvious. For instance, if the screen is black and the little lights indicating life are off, your computer is not even on. You should have checked this before becoming annoyed. You need to control your temper.
2. If your computer IS on, check the Internet connection.
This could also be a reason for your computer's slow behavior. Call the Internet company and demand that they turn your Internet back on. They're obviously trying to ruin your life so make sure they do it right.
3. If the Internet is on and working, you're over-reacting.
You may be just having a bad day. Often times, when we are in irritable moods, slow computers and other little things that go wrong just seem like rubbing salt on a wound. Breathe. Have a cup of tea. Do some stretches. Move on with life. Consider reading a book. (If you don't even remember what a book is or how the pages turn, seek professional help immediately.)
5. Now, since you've overcome your anger at your slow computer, spend a moment to be thankful you even HAVE one.
6. And finally, reward yourself with 6 straight hours of Pinterest. (or whatever your Internet obsession is) You've earned it.

7. If your computer is actually really slow, save up your money and buy a new one(or convince someone else to buy one for you, depending on how good you are at that/if you know anyone who would).
